1. Who we are

Market Square Apartments, Bushmills, Causeway Coast and Glens, Northern Ireland, run by Troy and Brooke. We are the data controller for the information described here, meaning we decide why and how it is used.

2. What we collect, and why

When you book: which apartment, your arrival and departure dates, your name, email address and mobile number, anything you type in the notes box, and any promo code you use. We need these to hold the booking for you, to confirm it, to send you the lockbox code and directions the day before you arrive, and to reach you on the day if we have to. The legal basis is that they are necessary to carry out your booking.

When you pay: your card details go directly from your browser to our card payment provider, inside its own secure form. They never reach this website or us. We receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference we can use to refund you.

Nothing else on the site stores anything. Phone, WhatsApp and email links open your own phone or mail app and go straight to Troy and Brooke.

Please do not use the notes box for anything sensitive, such as health information. We do not need it. Anything written there is seen only by Troy and Brooke and is removed with the rest of your details under section 8.

3. Emails we send

A confirmation when you book; a cancellation confirmation if a booking is cancelled; the lockbox code and directions the day before you arrive; and a short thank-you the day after you leave, with a link to leave a review if you would like to. That is the complete list. We do not send marketing email and there is no newsletter.

4. What we do not collect

• No accounts, no passwords, no sign-in. You book as a guest, every time.
• No advertising or marketing tracking of any kind. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, nothing similar.
• No location tracking.
• No access to your camera, contacts or microphone.
• Nothing here is sold, rented or shared with advertisers.

5. Cookies and similar storage

This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, so there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner. The secure card payment form may set cookies of its own for fraud prevention while it is on screen; those are covered by the payment provider's own privacy policy, linked from the form.

While you are choosing an apartment and dates, that choice is held in your own browser only, and is gone when you close the tab. Nothing is sent to us until you press Pay.

6. Who else handles data on this site

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the booking system. Each handles only what it needs for its job, acts only on our instructions, and is bound by a data processing agreement:

• Booking system hosting, which stores your booking.
• Card payments, which takes your payment. It sees your card details, name, email and the amount; we see none of the card details.
• Channel management, which keeps availability in step with the other platforms the apartments are listed on, such as Airbnb and Booking.com. It receives the dates, your name, email address, mobile number and the booking reference, so those nights are blocked everywhere else.
• Email delivery, which sends the emails described in section 3.
• Website hosting and typefaces, which serve the pages you see. Like any website, serving a page involves your IP address.

We do not sell or share your data with anyone else. If you would like the names of these providers, ask us using the details in section 11.

7. Where data is held

Your booking is stored in the UK or the European Union. Some of our providers are international companies and may process data outside the UK and EU; where they do, it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as approved contract clauses.

8. How long we keep it

• A booking attempt that never became a paid booking is deleted after twelve months.
• For a stay that went ahead, or a paid booking that was cancelled, we remove your name, email, mobile number and notes three years after the departure date. The dates, the apartment and the amount are kept for six years as a financial record, as the business is required to.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or give you a copy. Email or call Troy and Brooke using the details in section 11 and they will do it. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

10. Children

Market Square Apartments is a holiday letting business. The site is not directed at children, and a booking should only be made by someone old enough to enter into one.
