About
Six apartments on Market Square, Bushmills, run by Troy and Brooke.
The setting
Market Square Apartments sit in the centre of Bushmills village, on the Causeway Coast, minutes from the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Royal Portrush Golf Club.
Central and quiet at the same time is the thing guests notice. It comes up in review after review, unprompted: right in the middle of everything, and still private enough to sleep. That tension is what the place is actually selling, and it is harder to find than either half on its own.
Award-winning restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops are on foot. The Bushmills Inn is a few doors away, there is a shop across the road, and the bus to Portrush stops outside the door.
Who runs it
In their own words on one of the listings: “Brooke and I are brother and sister, young adventurous hosts, and we hope you give us a shout. We would love to welcome you to our apartment in Bushmills.”
Guests name them, which most hosts never get. How quickly they answer comes up often enough in the reviews to count as a feature rather than a nicety. You let yourself in with the lockbox, so nobody is waiting on anybody, but there is a real person on the other end of the phone if you need one.
The apartments
Modern kitchens, comfortable beds, fast wifi and open-plan living, set up for self-catering rather than for a hotel stay. One sleeps six across three bedrooms; the rest are for two.
They are not six of the same thing. The bath, the balcony with the BBQ and the step-free ground floor each belong to one specific apartment, so it is worth knowing which before you book rather than after you arrive.
